From a nature perspective, all countries in Latin America are absolutely jaw-dropping but Venezuela has the added benefit that it’s incredibly raw, more than any other country in the continent, for the simple reason that few foreigners have traveled there within the last few decades.
This itinerary will include visiting Canaima National Park and Angel Falls during one of the best times of the year, not to mention a deep visit into the capital Caracas.
We will also go to the Caribbean village of Chuao during Corpus Christi, the Dancing Devils Festival.

La Guaira is a colonial town located close to the airport, that’s where we’ll stay on our first night.
We’ll pick you up from the airport and then, check in at the hotel.

Located right at the edge of Henri Pittier National Park, Choroní is a Caribbean town with a very slow vibe that lives from fishing during the week and domestic tourism on the weekend. It’s home to pristine beaches but also a very tangible and welcoming Caribbean culture.
The journey to Choroní takes around 4 hours and, after checking in at the hotel, we’ll explore its main highlights.

Chuao is an even smaller village only accessible from Choroní by boat. Founded in the 17th century, Chuao has one of the most important cocoa plantations in the world, the reason why a large part of the population here are descendants of African slaves.
We will learn everything about the cocoa industry in Chuao and then, we’ll attend the worldwide famous Corpus Christi Festival, a Catholic celebration part of Venezuelan folklore and a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
They say that in the 17th century, a priest with no followers to perform the Procession of Corpus Christi said: ” If there is no money nor believers to carry the Blessed Sacrament in procession, then the devils come! “.
Today, there are 11 Brotherhood in Venezuela that celebrate this festival, Cha’s being the most popular.
Overnight in Chuao.
Hacienda de Santa Teresa is the place where they produce what arguably is the most famous rum in Venezuela: Ron Santa Teresa.
We’ll do a proper run tour & tasting, followed by a hearty traditional Venezuelan meal.
After lunch, we’ll ho to Caracas. Overnight to Caracas.
In the morning, we will go to Petare, the largest slum and shanty town in Latin America, where we will meet local communities of artists. Petare is actual Venezuela, and a place not many foreigners have been able to visit
After lunch, we will visit the center of Caracas, including the colonial area, today mostly replaced by concrete buildings that have more resemblance to cities from former USSR than any other city in Latin America
Evening/night will be spent in the local neighborhood of San Agustín
Overnight in Caracas.
Canaima is a settlement located in the jungle, where there are no roads, so you can only fly in. We’ll catch the morning flight, and after checking in the lodge, we’ll spend the day exploring the many waterfalls around Canaima Lagoon.

Angel Falls is the tallest waterfall in the world. It’s located 4-5 hours away from Canaima by canoe, and that’s how we’ll spend part of our our day, sailing throughout the river with a canoe.

After a half-day trek to Angel Falls, we’ll head back to Canaima.
Free time in the evening to explore and/or hang out around the lake and village.
In the evening, possibility of visiting the local indigenous communities.

In the morning, we will hike to the top of Kuravaina, one of the most accessible tepuys in the area. Tepuy is the table-top mountain characteristic of this part of Venezuela. The hike takes around 5 hours and it’s optional.
After lunch, we’ll also offer the option of visiting one of visiting the local indigenous communities.

Early morning flight to Caracas, from where we’ll go to La Guaira.
We’ll give some free time and in the afternoon, we’ll do a city tour.
Farewell dinner by the sea.
